So Phil McNulty and Wayne Rooney are singing from the same hymn sheet - but will they be in harmony with Gareth Southgate?

Who makes BBC pundits' England XIs?
Wayne Rooney
Former England strikerI'd like to see Anthony Gordon come into the team. I'd play Jordan Pickford in goal, then Kyle Walker, Marc Guehi, John Stones and Kieran Trippier. I’d play Gordon off the left, Bukayo Saka on the right, with Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham in the middle. Phil Foden is number 10 and Harry Kane up top.
What's happening at the minute is that Phil and Jude are almost occupying that same position, so it is difficult for them to find space.
So dropping Jude back a little bit and giving Phil that space to roam, with Gordon and Saka keeping the width, will make a big difference to the team.
They've had a lot of possession in the opposition half but the space is a bit congested at the minute.

Who makes BBC pundits' England XIs?
Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writerEngland’s left side has looked unbalanced so I would go with Anthony Gordon in front of his Newcastle team-mate Kieran Trippier. I would bank on their understanding from club level to work and on Gordon to give England more natural width, pace and a goal threat.
I would drop Jude Bellingham back from number 10 to play with Declan Rice, not as a partner but someone who would have licence to roam given the Arsenal midfield man's game intelligence and ability to sniff out danger. I think this would still give both the opportunity to go forward.
I'd put Phil Foden, England's most dangerous player against Denmark, as the number 10 in this team behind the front three, because I believe the team would get much more out of him there and would become a more potent threat.

England v Slovenia (20:00 BST)
It has been five days since England's underwhelming draw against Denmark and debate continues over who Gareth Southgate should name in his starting XI for the final Group C match against Slovenia.
Should he stick with Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield? Start Anthony Gordon on the left wing? Drop Jude Bellingham deeper?
Some of BBC Sport's pundits, along with chief football writer Phil McNulty and reporter Alex Howell, have proposed who they would pick to play for England against Slovenia.
We will feature all of their starting XIs shortly, but click here to read the feature in full.

Declan Rice finished his interview with BBC Radio 5 Live's John Murray - for the latest edition of Football Daily - by discussing whether there was a siege mentality in the England camp and highlighting his team-mates' desire to prove doubters wrong:
“It’s my thirdtournament now and I think every tournament has been the same. For the lasttwo, there is always noise with England.
“You have gotto learn to take it on the chin. At the end ofthe day we are the ones that have to go out and perform.
“Like we said, the performance in the first game was good, [the] second game not as good. [Slovenia] is a chance to rectify both of those performances.
“We are goingto be really positive and it’s a chance to put all our negativestuff behind us and move positively forward.”

More from Declan Rice, speaking on Football Daily, about fellow midfielder Conor Gallagher, who reports suggest will start alongside the Arsenal man against Slovenia:
“I have playedagainst him [and] with him at academy level, [plus] against himwhen he was at Palace and Chelsea.
“He is a team-mate I would love to have on my team. He works hissocks off, you feel so secure and safe in there with him.
“I think he hassurprised so many people this year with his ability on the ball. How well hebreaks forward with it, how he gets into the box, scores goals.
“I feel asthough he is a really positive player and he has come on so much over the lastfew years. You can reallysee that within himself, how confident he is.
“Every time Ihave played with Conor, which hasn’t been much, I have really enjoyed it. I know himreally well as a guy, I know his family really well, he is a lovely boy, it’sanother great chance to stamp our mark.”

BBC Sport in MunichHello from Munich!
It’s nice and sunny here in the city that will play host to tonight’s match between Denmark and Serbia.
I’m travelling to the Olympic Park, where the official fan zone is, before kick-off to meet some fans.
There’s already plenty of Danes out early exploring the city, including these two friends who have come dressed for the occasion.
It’s a short ride on the S-Bahn or the U-Bahn to the Olympic park from the main train station, while plenty of supporters are also heading to Marienplatz, which is the main square in the city centre.

Gareth has successfully guided us through the group but the performances haven’t inspired enough optimism for me. The last few years we’ve not been favourites and I’m not sure we can handle the pressure. Hopefully this poor start will turn England back into the dark horses of the tournament, a role we can perform in!
Ned, Bolton
Tonight's the night that our tournament turns on! By tomorrow morning the doom and gloom of the last week will have lifted.Foden and Kane will silence the critics, Bellingham will shine and our defence will keep a clean sheet. It's time to start believing and for the whole country to see how special this team can be! Come on England!!!

"Ithink a sign of a good team is always when you don’t play well, you don’t losethe game," England midfielder Declan Rice told BBC Radio 5 Live's John Murray on their draw with Denmark, as he looked forward to tonight's final Group C game against Slovenia.
"Obviously, wedidn’t lose and didn't have the best performance, which we have spoken aboutover the last few days.
"We havereviewed it as a group and as a team after, [we have] spoken internally as agroup and knew it wasn’t good enough which was really important.
"We are ready for tomorrow, which is a fresh challenge. [It is] achallenge to top the group, to have a positive feeling and a positive vibegoing into the knockout rounds."

We end our round-up of today's newspapers with a very busy sport page of the i, which leads on Declan Rice's insistence that England's forwards have been in "frightening form" during training sessions leading into tonight's game against Slovenia.
There's also focus on Italy's last-gasp draw with Croatia, which has likely eliminated Luka Modric and co, and an interesting teaser to David Moyes being talked up as a potential Scotland boss.

The Express continues with the "reset" theme but also hones in on Gareth Southgate's reported plan to bring in Conor Gallagher from the start against Slovenia tonight, replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield - in the hope of a more dynamic display from his side.
There's also an interesting interview with Slovenia striker Jan Mlakar - the former QPR and Wigan loanee - lauding Jude Bellingham as the "hottest player in the world" right now, but insisting his players don't "fear" England.
