Yeovil Town 1-0 Crawley Town
Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset: "I felt confident there was light at the end of the tunnel. The lads pulled it together today. I'm so pleased Jordy (Hiwula) got his goal. He's been unlucky and we've kept persevering and he's been a match-winner for us today. But I thought we had a few match-winners out there today. It was as comfortable as a 1-0 win can be."
Jordy Hiwula scored his first goal since joining on loan from Manchester City to send Yeovil through to the second round.

Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde
AFC Fylde winger Mike Barnes: "The second half especially we did alright. We put pressure on them and were unlucky not to take our chances. We had a couple of good chances first half, and if we'd have taken them it could have been different.
"It's nice to come and play on the nice pitches with a good crowd. It's what everybody wants to do."
Plymouth manager John Sheridan earlier admitted he thought his side were lucky not to concede.

Walsall 2-2 Shrewsbury Town
Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I am very disappointed to have conceded a goal at the very end, but we are in the hat for the draw on Monday and we'll have a chance when we take them back to the Meadow - we'll know what the prize is. We have had a few changes forced upon us, but if you'd have said that we would score twice here at Walsall I'd have said that would have given us a good chance. There was a derby feel about the game, played in a very good atmosphere and it was a really good cup tie."
League Two side Shrewsbury were 2-1 up until the 90th minute but Tom Bradshaw equalised for Walsall, against his former club, to take it to a replay.

The Robins were indeed rocking today with a stunning 5-0 win against Swindon.

Southend United 1-2 Chester
Southend manager Phil Brown: "They beat us fair and square. I'm disappointed and hurt. It's hurtful what has happened today. We were undone by a better side. We have to learn from this. It was always a potential banana skin and we looked anxious. The players need to relax when they play."
Goals from Ben Heneghan and Craig Mahon sent Conference side Chester through to the second round at the expense of League Two Southend.

Basingstoke Town 1-1 AFC Telford United
AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson told BBC Radio Shropshire: "If you asked me if I wanted to stay in the competition at the start of the day, I would have taken it. I think we've missed a great opportunity to get through at the first time of asking. I feel sorry for the lads who put in such a great effort, and the fans were fantastic. It was a difficult pitch, puddles everywhere and it was difficult to clear your lines in the second half."
Telford, currently bottom of the Conference, must replay against the Conference South leaders.
Post update
Crewe Alexandra 0-0 Sheffield United
BBC Radio Sheffield's Jonathan Buchan speaking to Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough: "Nigel Clough tells me (Blades striker Marc) McNulty missed the game as he picked up a facial injury in an incident in a Scottish nightclub. Clough says the club are not happy with McNulty, who says he was the innocent party in the incident, resulting in a facial injury."
The Blades drew 0-0 with League One's bottom club Crewe Alexandra.
Post update
Cambridge United 1-0 Fleetwood Town
Fleetwood manager Graham Alexander reacts to their early FA Cup exit at League Two Cambridge: "We came here with a very experienced team to get a result and we're all hurting. We wanted to be in the second round of the Cup and we can't sugar-coat it any other way. There's a lot of pain in there. We now have to turn that pain into hard work."
Ten-man Fleetwood lost to Kwesi Appiah's late goal at the Abbey Stadium.

Oxford, 19th in League Two, are only seven places above a Grimsby side lying second in the Conference, but earned a comfortable 3-1 win at Blundell Park, with James Roberts celebrating his new contract by scoring twice for the U's.

So not quite the shockwaves of last night and Warrington's defeat of Exeter, but they will be dancing on the streets of Dover and Chester tonight. They have created the biggest headlines today, the Conference duo knocking out Morecambe and Southend respectively.
And honourable mention, too, for Cheltenham of League Two, who put five past League One high-flyers Swindon Town, and also Cambridge for their defeat of Fleetwood.

Byron Harrison is the hero for League Two Cheltenham, scoring a hat-trick in their 5-0 demolition of 10-man Swindon, who are 34 places above them in the league standings. Not bad for a striker who had only scored twice all season before today.
There are 34 places too between Conference strugglers Dover and League Two Morecambe, but the non-league side won 1-0 thanks to Stefan Payne's first-half winner.
Elsewhere, Eastleigh are into the second round for the first time, beating Conference rivals Lincoln 2-1 with a late Ben Strevens goal.
FULL-TIME
Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers
League Two leaders Wycombe's superb start to the season continued as they sailed into the second round at the expense of Barnet, who finished the game with nine men. The Bees took the lead through John Akinde inside two minutes before Paul Hayes equalised from the spot. Sam Togwell then saw red and Barnet failed to battle back. Aaron Pierre and Sam Wood added two more for the Chairboys before Andy Yiadom's late sending-off.
FULL-TIME
Bury 3-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
James Potton's deflected strike gave Conference South side Hemel Hempstead a surprise lead, which was quickly cancelled out by Andrew Tutte, and it took late goals from Nathan Cameron and Daniel Nardiello to seal Bury's spot in Monday's round two draw.
FULL-TIME
Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde
Another non-league side bites the dust as John Sheridan's Plymouth knock out Conference North side AFC Fylde.
It was a valiant effort by the men managed by former Tranmere and Bury player Dave Challinor (without his famous long throws on the pitch), but in the end Argyle had enough to see out a comfortable victory thanks to goals from Peter Hartley and Marvin Morgan.
GOAL
Bury 3-1 Hemel Hempstead Town - Daniel Nardiello (90 mins)
Hemel Hempstead have been a credit to the Conference South today, giving as good as they have got, but their FA Cup journey and their resistance is ended by Daniel Nardiello as the striker heads in from four yards to seal Bury's spot in round two.

League Two side Cambridge have upset League One opponents Fleetwood 1-0 at the Abbey Stadium, with Kwesi Appiah scoring moments after visitors' striker Jamie Proctor was sent off.
Crewe, bottom of League One, have held League Cup quarter-finalists Sheffield United to a 0-0 draw at Gresty Road, while Conference South leaders Basingstoke face a replay at Conference side AFC Telford after their meeting finished 1-1.
RED CARD
Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers - Andy Yiadom (90 mins)
Things go from bad to worse for Barnet defender Andy Yiadom as he sees red for a rash challenge on Josh Scowen. Yiadom gifted Wycombe their penalty in the first half and now the Bees must play out the last few minutes with only nine men.
Post update
Bury 2-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Into five minutes of added time at the JD Stadium, where Conference South side Hemel Hempstead are searching for a late equaliser. Danny Talbot's header loops wide - will that be their last chance?
FULL-TIME
Hartlepool United 2-0 East Thurrock United
The dream is over for Ryman Premier side East Thurrock, as they succumb to defeat at Victoria Park against Hartlepool, 60 places above them in the football pyramid.
Despite his late error, East Thurrock keeper David Hughes was named as the sponsors' man of the match for a string of wonderful saves that kept his side in the game.
For Pools it will be pure relief they have avoided being knocked out by a non-league side, but for East Thurrock, it is back to league business on Tuesday with a home game against Leatherhead.
Post update
Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers
The torrential rain continues at the Hive but the goals have dried up - for now. League Two Wycombe are holding on to their 3-1 lead against Conference leaders Barnet. Some amusem*nt in the stands as Chairboys defender Sido Jombati slides for the ball and almost takes out Bees boss Martin Allen in the process.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde
AFC Fylde aren't going down at Home Park without a fight, but they just cannot find a way past Luke McCormick in the Plymouth goal - he has made a number of outstanding stops.
Post update
There's a famous name on the scoresheet at Oakwell. Devante Cole - son of former Manchester United and England striker Andy - has made it 5-0 to Barnsley against Burton. Cole junior, 19, is on loan with the Tykes from Manchester City.
Cheltenham striker Byron Harrison's day just gets better. He has completed his hat-trick for League Two side Cheltenham, who are thrashing their League One opponents Swindon 5-0. The visitors have clearly suffered following the first-half sending off of Nathan Thompson, his third red card of the season.
A late winner at Eastleigh? Ben Strevens has put them 2-1 up against Conference rivals Lincoln.
GOAL
Bury 2-1 Hemel Hempstead Town - Nathan Cameron (88 mins)
Heartbreak for Hemel Hempstead.
Danny Mayor has been trying to win this game on his own for Bury in the second half and his cross lands at the feet of Nathan Cameron, who drives the ball into the net left-footed from 10 yards.
Post update
A seven-goal treat for fans at Vale Park. Dany N'Guessan has scored his second for Port Vale but they still trail League One rivals MK Dons 4-3.
There's also a goal-fest at Luton, who lead 4-2 against fellow League Two side Newport County.
GOAL
Hartlepool United 2-0 East Thurrock United - Jonathan Franks (86 mins)
After making an absolutely wonderful stop to deny Jonathan Franks a second ago, East Thurrock keeper David Hughes has a stinker as he lets a cross slip through his grasp, and the ball drops perfectly onto the head of the onrushing Franks to score his second of the game.
You'd think that was curtains for the Ryman Premier side.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
The FA Cup is full of fairytales - maybe one is on the way at Bury. The Shakers have just brought Joe Thompson off the bench for the final 10 minutes. A year ago last week, while with Tranmere, the winger was told he had cancer. He has successfully beaten the disease and is back playing professional football - can he now find a winning goal for the League Two side?
Post update
Incredible. It's becoming difficult to keep up with the drama at Bromley. Dartford's Tom Bradbrook - whose elder brother Elliot scored for them earlier - has struck to put the visitors 4-3 up. Will that be enough to see the Darts into round two?
Post update
It's been a good day for striker Sam Winnall, who has completed a hat-trick for League One side Barnsley to give them a 4-0 lead over League Two opponents Burton. Winnall, who scored Barnsley's league winner at Sheffield United last weekend, has five goals in three games.
Elsewhere League One leaders Bristol City are 2-1 up at Gillingham, while Kwesi Appiah has given League Two side Cambridge a 1-0 lead League One opponents Fleetwood, who are down to 10 men following the sending off of striker Jamie Proctor.
Post update
Hartlepool United 1-0 East Thurrock United
You probably won't see a better piece of goalkeeping than that in the FA Cup this year. Hartlepool striker Marlon Harewood teases out David Hughes in the East Thurrock goal before laying off to Jonathan Franks. The winger looks certain to add his second of the game, but Hughes flies out of nowhere to keep his shot out. Now can his strikers back him up and score the goal to keep them in this year's FA Cup?
Post update
What a day this is proving to be for Cheltenham. Mark Yates' League Two side are 4-0 up against League One Swindon, with Matt Richards scoring. Swindon don't enjoy the FA Cup much these days - they lost 4-0 in the first round at non-league Macclesfield a year ago.
We told you there might be another twist at Bromley - Danny Waldron has scored to make it 3-3 against Dartford in a terrific derby at Hayes Lane.

GOAL
Barnet 1-3 Wycombe Wanderers - Sam Wood (74 mins)
Wycombe look to be sailing into the second round after putting a third past 10-man Conference leaders Barnet. Matt McClure stayed onside and clipped a cross-shot towards Sam Wood, who slotted into an empty net from close range.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Danny Mayor is proving to be a constant threat to the Hemel Hempstead goal, with the Bury winger enjoying run after run down the left touchline. Unfortunately for Bury fans, the end product hasn't quite been there and it remains 1-1.
GOAL
Plymouth Argyle 2-0 AFC Fylde (Marvin Morgan 69 mins)
Heartbreaker for the Conference North side. After the penalty appeal, Plymouth go straight down the other end and win a corner. Ollie Norburn's delivery is headed down by Carl McHugh and flicked home by big man Marvin Morgan. Dave Challinor's AFC Fylde have a lot of work to do to get back into this.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde
Penalty shout at Home Park as AFC Fylde sub Danny Lloyd's shot appears to hit the hand of the Plymouth Argyle defender sliding in, but the referee turns away the appeals and the ball goes out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
Post update
Barnet 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers
Barnet's Andy Yiadom thought he had made amends for gifting Wycombe their first-half penalty, but his header is ruled out after an apparent push on goalkeeper Matt Ingram.
Post update
Hartlepool United 1-0 East Thurrock United
Ryman Premier side East Thurrock are causing League Two Hartlepool all manner of problems, with shots flying all over the place. But they can't find that killer touch. Will they be able to put one away and go on to pull off a memorable upset?
Post update
It's turning into a cracking cup tie at Bromley, where visitors Dartford now lead 3-2 thanks to Elliot Bradbrook's goal. Not much between those two teams - Dartford are 21st in the Conference, Bromley fourth in the Conference South, so there could be more twists yet.
A quick mention for Southport, 18th in the Conference, who are holding League Two strugglers Dagenham and Redbridge 0-0 away from home.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Big penalty shouts from the Bury players waved away. Out of a crowd of bodies, a Hemel defender blocks a Nicky Adams shot from close range and the referee turns down their appeals for handball. Hemel's goalscorer James Potton is being substituted and leaves to great acclaim from the travelling supporters.

Conference side Chester are doing their best to create a classic cupset - they're 2-1 up against League Two outfit Southend through Craig Mahon's drilled shot.
And things are hotting up between Tranmere and Bristol Rovers. The League Two hosts are 1-0 up but are playing with 10 men after George Donnelly's sending off.
You can keep an eye on all the goals as they go in via our videprinter.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
With no massive upsets on the cards at the moment, Hemel Hempstead are closing in on what could be the result of the day at the JD Stadium, with the Conference South side still holding their League One opponents after an hour. Danny Mayor is the latest to be denied by Laurie Walker, while Daniel Nardiello balloons a shot over from 12 yards.
GOAL
Barnet 1-2 Wycombe Wanderers - Aaron Pierre (59 mins)
League Two leaders Wycombe are capitalising on having a man advantage and have come from behind to lead Conference opponents Barnet. Joe Jacobson's corner is met by the head of Aaron Pierre, who thumps the Chairboys ahead. Torrential rain and swirling winds at The Hive are making this a really difficult game for both sides.
Post update
Cheltenham striker Byron Harrison, who had only scored twice all season before today, has now netted two in one game.
Harrison's second has put his side 3-0 up at home to 10-man Swindon, third in League One. Looks like an upset is in the bag at Whaddon Road.
The goals are flying in at Hayes Lane, where it's 2-2 in the all non-league Kent derby between Bromley and Dartford, while League One side Barnsley are 3-0 up against League Two promotion hopefuls Burton.
Post update
Newport County have pulled one back against League Two rivals Luton thanks to Yan Klukowski's second goal of the season.
And some positive news for struggling Tranmere - they are ahead against Conference side Bristol Rovers after Max Power's penalty.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde
Not an awful lot of goalmouth action currently at Home Park, with AFC Fylde's Jamie Allen missing the best chance of this half so far when he ballooned a shot from the edge of the area when completely open.

And Chris Flood has scored for Conference South leaders Basingstoke to make it 1-1 at home to AFC Telford, who are bottom of the Conference.
Elsewhere, Danny Rose has given League Two side Oxford a 3-0 lead at Conference promotion chasers Grimsby.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Quiet start to the second half at the JD Stadium, where Bury are being held by Hemel Hempstead. Shaker defender Pablo Mills is pulled up for a foul on a visiting attacker, and luckily for him, it was a long way from goal and there was a covering defender. Otherwise he could have been off.

Plenty of action to talk about in the first 45 minutes, but sadly none for the fans of Weston-super-Mare or Doncaster Rovers to view at Woodspring Stadium.
Referee Tim Robinson postponed the game because of a waterlogged pitch and confirmation was announced around 20 minutes before the scheduled 15:00 GMT kick-off, leaving a lot of the travelling supporters unhappy following a 200-mile trip to the West Country.

Cheltenham are currently beating West Country rivals Swindon 2-0.
Half-time
Half-time whistles are blowing all around the country. Four teams - Bromley, Cheltenham, Dover and Shrewsbury - are leading against sides from a higher level, while Barnet and Hemel Hempstead are on level terms with their respective Football League opponents after taking early leads.
Nothing yet on the scale of Warrington's win over Exeter last night, though. Who can be today's Craig Robinson?
Post update
Dover may be two points above the Conference relegation zone but they've gone 1-0 in front against a Morecambe side 34 places above them in League Two, thanks to a Stefan Payne goal in first-half stoppage time.
However, an upset looks unlikely at Oakwell, where two Sam Winnall goals have put League One side Barnsley 2-0 up and in control against League Two opponents Burton.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde
Another chance for AFC Fylde goes begging as Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper Luke McCormick stands his ground well to keep out an effort from Mike Barnes.
RED CARD
Barnet 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers - Sam Togwell off (45 mins)
Barnet midfielder Sam Togwell is shown a straight red card for a late and rather clumsy two-footed challenge on Wycombe veteran and BBC Sport columnist Matt Bloomfield. Big challenge for the Conference leaders now.
Post update
A tasty tie going on at Vale Park. No sooner had Carl Baker put MK Dons 2-1 up against Port Vale, than the hosts have found an immediate equaliser through Dany N'Guessan.
In another battle of the League One sides, Mike Jones' deflected free-kick has given Oldham the lead against Leyton Orient.
Post update
The highest-placed side in the first round are in front. League One leaders Bristol City are 1-0 up at Gillingham thanks to a goal from former Manchester City left-back Greg Cunningham.
James Roberts is making all the difference at Blundell Park - scoring twice to give League Two strugglers Oxford a 2-0 lead at Grimsby, who are second in the Conference. Elsewhere, League One Barnsley lead League Two Burton 1-0.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Hemel Hempstead are scrambling to remain on level terms with League Two side Bury. A marauding run down the left touchline ends with two Bury shots, which are blocked by goalkeeper Laurie Wilson and then a defender.
Post update
The shock is definitely on at League Two side Cheltenham, now 2-0 up against 10-man Swindon of League One thanks to transfer-listed striker Terry Gornell.
League Two play-off contenders Southend are level at home to mid-table Conference side Chester, with Barry Corr's penalty making it 1-1.
And there's been a temporary stoppage at Grimsby, who now trail Oxford 2-0, with one of the assistant referees pulling up with an injury and needing to be replaced.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde
Richie Allen misses a golden opportunity to bring AFC Fylde instantly level, when he breaks through on goal but scuffs his effort just wide. He should have buried that. He looks gutted.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Big escape for Hemel Hempstead as a close-range header from Bury's Danny Rose is cleared off the line by a visiting defender. A right-wing corner caused all sorts of problems for goalkeeper Laurie Walker, who failed to get a meaningful punch away from danger.
GOAL
Barnet 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers - Paul Hayes penalty (34 mins)
The League Two table-toppers are level. Barnet defender Andy Yiadom appears to trip Wycombe's Matt McClure in the penalty box and, despite protests, referee Oliver Langford points to the spot. Paul Hayes steps up and slots home into the bottom right-hand corner.
Post update
Barnet 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers
Wycombe goalkeeper Matt Ingham is a busy boy against Barnet. Although he wasn't able to keep out John Akinde's opener for the Conference table-toppers, he's since saved from a swirling Lee Cook free-kick and managed to cover Luisma Villa's audacious bicycle kick. The League Two leaders under the cosh.
GOAL
Plymouth Argyle 1-0 AFC Fylde - Peter Hartley (28 mins)
AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor will not be pleased with this, though, as Plymouth go in front at Home Park. Ollie Norburn whips in a corner finding Peter Hartley completely unmarked and he duly does the honours from six yards.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 0-0 AFC Fylde
We said it was a battle of attrition, what we probably should have said was that there are quite a few tackles flying around at Plymouth Argyle. AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor (remember his long throws during his playing days with Tranmere and Bury) will be pleased with the progress of his side thus far.
GOAL
Hartlepool United 1-0 East Thurrock United (Jonathan Franks 32 mins)
The Football League's bottom club have taken the lead through Jonathan Franks, as the former Middlesbrough man takes a shot from the outside of the area that goes past the despairing dive of David Hughes in the East Thurrock goal.

Hartlepool United 0-0 East Thurrock United
Hartlepool have just shaded the opening period of this match, and come close when Jordan Richards heads over a cross from the left. Still goalless at Victoria Park, which will suit Ryman Premier side East Thurrock.

AFC Telford are having a gloomy league season - they are bottom of the Conference - but lead 1-0 at Conference South promotion chasers Basingstoke thanks to a goal from former Stoke City youngster Rod McDonald.

Rochdale have got a battle on their hands - they will play for 70 minutes against League Two Northampton with only 10 men after Ian Henderson's red card against his former club.
It's a similar situation for Dale's League One rivals Swindon, who have had captain Nathan Thompson sent off, and are 1-0 down against Cheltenham.
A feisty FA Cup first round already.
Post update
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town
Hemel Hempstead come close to taking the lead for a second time against Bury. A weaving run from opening goalscorer James Potton creates some space on the edge of the box and he forces a good save from Rob Lainton.
Post update
Plymouth Argyle 0-0 AFC Fylde
There is a real battle of attrition going on at Home Park as League Two side Plymouth Argyle take on AFC Fylde of the Conference North. The non-league outfit have held their own so far, but both sides are struggling to create any clear chances.
GOAL
Bury 1-1 Hemel Hempstead Town - Andrew Tutte (16 mins)
That's how Bury will respond - with an equaliser from Andrew Tutte. He hits a right-footed shot first-time from outside the box and it flies low into the corner. The Shakers were behind for just six minutes.

An early surprise at Whaddon Road, where Swindon - third in League One - are 1-0 down at League Two side Cheltenham, for whom Byron Harrison has scored.
Goals, too, in a couple of the all non-league ties - Bromley lead Dartford 1-0, while Eastleigh are 1-0 up against Lincoln City.

Bury 0-1 Hemel Hempstead Town - James Potton (10 mins)
Is a shock on the cards in Bury? Hemel Hempstead Town take a deserved early lead through striker James Potton. He has one curling shot saved by Bury goalkeeper Rob Lainton, but breaks free from the resulting corner and sends a deflected shot into the back of the net.

Bury v Hemel Hempstead Town (15:00 GMT)

In August 2013, the Hertfordshire town of Hemel Hempstead earned the unenviable title of "Britain's ugliest town".
Today their football club, currently plying their trade in the Conference South, visit League Two side Bury hoping to cause an FA Cup upset.
To try and boost the town's reputation, here are five facts about Hemel Hempstead you may not know:
- Actor Roger Moore lived there in the 1960s before he became famous for his role as James Bond.
- Former world number one golfer Luke Donald and Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock both hail from the town.
- King Henry VIII - between his third and fourth wives - granted the town its charter in 1539.
- It claims to have Britain's first purpose-built multi-storey car park.
- Hemel Hempstead Town are appearing in the FA Cup first round proper for the first time since 1938, when they lost 2-1 to Bromley. Back then, they were known as Apsley and were playing in the superbly-named Spartan League.

Hartlepool United v East Thurrock United (15:00 GMT)
East Thurrock United are hoping to defeat Hartlepool United, the Football League's bottom club, in the FA Cup first round today and will aim to do so with the help of in-form striker Sam Higgins.
He scored a hat-trick for the Ryman Premier side in their 7-1 thrashing of Bath City in the fourth qualifying round, but he was also booked in that match.
East Thurrock believed that it was his fifth yellow card of the season, which would have ruled him out of today's tie, but the club later found they had made an administrative error and it was, in fact, only his fourth booking of the campaign.

Making the most of FA Cup showcase
EmpicsCopyright: Empics
The FA Cup is often the only place that players can parade their talents and possibly earn a dream move to a club at a higher level, as Kevin Keegan knows only too well.
The ex-England captain told BBC Surrey: "All these non-league players going in should see it as an opportunity. It will raise their profile a little bit. If you are playing a Football League side, there will be scouts at the game on the lookout for talent - lads who maybe failed somewhere and have suddenly found something or lads who have never been given a chance.
"That's what happened to me. I got spotted by Bill Shankly playing for Sc*nthorpe in a first-round replay against Tranmere Rovers at Goodison Park (in 1970-71). The FA Cup got me my move to Liverpool."
Just over three years later, Keegan was scoring for the Reds in their 1974 FA Cup final win over Newcastle United at Wembley.

John Gregory has played for QPR and managed Aston Villa in past FA Cup finals, losing on both occasions. Today he is in charge of Crawley for their first-round tie with Yeovil.
Both teams have excellent FA Cup pedigrees, with Crawley twice making it to the last 16 in recent seasons and famously giving Manchester United a fright at Old Trafford in 2011 when they were still a non-league club.
Recalling his own memories of the competition, Gregory told BBC Sussex: "As a kid I was a Spurs fan. In 1961 I was seven and saw my team in the FA Cup final. I just fell in love with it.
"When I finally played in it in 1982, against Tottenham, it was just a schoolboy dream. I was 29. There are players who are much better than me that have never played in it and have missed their chance."
'When we scored, I felt the ground shake'

The FA Cup first round gives us an excuse - not that we needed much of one - to reminisce over memorable games from years gone by.
In 2005, the Scholars Ground was nearly the scene of one of the most famous upsets in FA Cup history when Chasetown of the Midland Football Alliance took on Oldham in the first round.
In front of 3.2m watching on TV, Nicky Harrison's volley gave the non-league side a shock lead, only for the former FA Cup semi-finalists to draw level and beat them in a replay.

Can AFC Fylde leave Plymouth feeling green?
Plymouth Argyle v AFC Fylde (15:00 GMT)

Plymouth Argyle supporters will need no reminding about the perils of facing non-league opposition in the early rounds of the FA Cup.
The Devon side, who famously reached the semi-finals in 1984 as a third-tier club, were drawn against Dorchester Town of the Conference South in the first round two years ago.
Plymouth had a man sent off inside the first 10 minutes and Dorchester went on to win the tie 1-0. To make matters worse, their only goal was scored by Jake Gosling, who had been on Plymouth's books as a youngster.
The Pilgrims suffered a similar fate a year earlier against Southern Premier side Stourbridge. They had Paul Bignot sent off in the first half and lost 2-0.
