    50. At half-time, a delve into the record books showed that Georges Mikautadze's penalty was the latest first half goal scored in European Championship history.

It's remarkable then that Patrik Schick went so close to equalising straight afterwards, and would have done had it not been for the heroics of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

    Georgia 1-0 Czech Republic

    48. An awkward clash between David Jurasek and Georges Mikautadze has both players flat out on the pitch and in requirement of treatment.

It's rightly been called as a Georgia free-kick, but an accidental collision and a sore one for both involved.

    Kick-off - Georgia 1-0 Czech Republic

    46. A huge 45 minutes in the history of Georgian football awaits as they begin the second half a goal up in Hamburg.

  • First half facts and figures

Czechia are trailing at half time against Georgia despite having 11 more shots than them.

Since 1980, only one side have outshot their opposition by more and still gone in behind at the break of a European Championship match: Russia when one down to Greece in 2012, having had 16 shots and faced four.

    Georgia 1-0 Czech Republic

45+5. What a save from Giorgi Mamardashvili!

The goalkeeper denies Patrik Schick an immediate equaliser with one of the stops of the tournament.

Mamardashvili throws himself down low to his right to push out a bullet of a shot from the Czech striker, who had done brilliantly to make room inside the box by turning his marker inside out.

    Georgia 1-0 Czech Republic

45+4. Deep in first half stoppage time, Georges Mikautadze converts from the spot to give Georgia the lead!

Under immense pressure and in front of the whistling Czech Republic fans, the forward steps and sends Jindrich Stanek the wrong way by side-footing into the right corner.

A wonderful moment for Georgian football!

Georgia 0-0 Czech Republic - Penalty to Georgia!

45+2. Oh, hang on, there's a potential check for a Georgia penalty!

As the free-kick came in from the right, defender Robin Hranac stretched out his arm into an unnatural positition and brushes the cross.

It was barely noticeable in real time, but VAR are all over it and quickly advise Daniel Siebert to award a spotkick.

This will be a huge opportunity for Georgia in the final seconds of the first half.

    45. A huge chance for Kashia! Saved by Stanek!

On this occasion, the Czech Republic get their defending at a set-piece all wrong, and the ball travels through to the Georgian captain.

A wonderful piece of skill turns him away from his marker and leaves him with a point-blank opportunity to score.

    39. The tackles are really flying in now, and perhaps Daniel Siebert is getting a little bit card happy.

The referee now books Lukas Provod for chopping at the right ankle of Mikautadze.

The Czech midfielder is another who will have to watch himself.

    35. Georgia win their first corner in front of the thousands of Czech Republic fans at that end of the stadium.

The masses needn't worry though given the height in their team, and Hranac promptly powers Tsitaishvili's delivery away.

    25. Despite the disappointment of the disallowed goal, there is no let up from the Czechs as they pour forward.

With Schick bursting unmarked through the middle, all Doudera has to do is find him with a cross.

Yet again another last-gasp block from a Georgian defender keeps them alive.

    23. Czech Republic take the lead!

A long throw into the Georgia box causes chaos and deflects through to Adam Hlozek at the far post.

The forward's first shot is blocked at point-blank range by Giorgi Mamardashvili, but then bounces back on to the Czech man to convert.

However, the Georgian defence immediately appeal, and replays show with good reason.

In connecting with the rebound, the ball hit Hlozek's face and then dropped on to his wrist before finding the net.

The VAR officials intervene, and advise the goal is disallowed for offside.

Disappointment for the Czechs; a reprieve for Georgia.
