    Rangers 1-0 Motherwell

There was a pause for a VAR check there and it must have been tight, but Hampden erupts with a second celebration as the Rangers goal is confirmed.

    Cyriel Dessers

Rangers are rewarded for a positive start.

Ridvan Yilmaz's cross to the back post is nodded down for Mohamed Diomand and Cyriel Dessers squeezes a finish past the keeper.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:13

    15:13

    Rangers 0-0 Motherwell

An incredible passage of play at Hampden!

Vaclav Cerny picks out Scott Wright with a stunning reverse pass and he rounds the keeper, but Paul McGinn makes a superb goal-saving block on the line.

Wright then cuts it back to Cyriel Dessers and his finish is somehow saved by the boot of goalkeeper Aston Oxborough.

    Ross County 0-0 Dundee United

After that early escape, County have tested the United defence a few times.

They are threatening mainly through set pieces, while Ronan Hale forces a crucial block from defender Declan Gallagher.

    15:08

    Ross MacIver

Ross MacIver strikes from close range as the hosts fail to clear their lines and Falkirk have the lead at East End Park.

  6. What a miss!published at 15:07

    15:07

    Ross County 0-0 Dundee United

Straight from kick-off, Dundee United rob Ross County and they go one-on-one.

Jort van der Sande rounds the keeper but he's too wide, so he pulls it back to Miller Thomson, who skies over from two yards out.

The ball is out of the ground!

We thought Hibs' Dylan Vente had already secured the miss of the season award last week. We have a new contender.

  7. CLOSE!published at 15:05

    15:05

    Rangers 0-0 Motherwell

Ooft! A simple ball over the top sends Lennon Miller through but he finishes wide of the near post, rippling the side-netting.

The flag goes up but he looked onside. That's a huge, huge chance for Motherwell.

  8. Postpublished at 15:04

    15:04

    Rangers 0-0 Motherwell

Rangers look to take a free-kick quickly, which Cyriel Dessers puts into the net, but the referee isn't ready.

From the second take, Mohamed Diomande has a shot blocked. Bright start from the hosts who aren't really the hosts.

  9. Postpublished at 15:02

    15:02

    Rangers 0-0 Motherwell

As expected, it's young left-back Ewan Wilson who's pushed into a more advanced role for a makeshift Motherwell, with Steve Seddon in the wing-back position.

Czech winger Vaclav Cerny starts on the right for Rangers.

  12. 'Venue irrelevant as both sides seek goals'published at 14:58

    14:58

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Hampden

Much has been said about Hampden being the venue for Rangers' home league fixtures for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure how much difference it will make in reality.

The pitch is in great condition and both sides go looking for their opening league goal of the campaign to get fully up and running.

Rangers are slightly hampered by trying to get players match-fit in an already busy schedule. Motherwell have to contend with a long injury list but will reflect on their last visit to Ibrox where they won 2-1.

  13. 'Always about the group'published at 14:56

    14:56

Ross County v Dundee United (15:00)

Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland: "The message I give the players is very consistent; it's always about the group.

"I won't make four changes every week but there are some things I think we can do better, and things we can do to hurt Dundee United today.

"We're back at home. We want to be attacking, show more quality.

"This is a new season, with a new group, and we want to make this a hard place to come."

  14. Postpublished at 14:54

    14:54

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Maybe we should temper Motherwell expectations by pointing out that they last won back-to-back league games against Rangers in 1960...

They have never managed successive league victories away to today's hosts.

  15. Rovers hope to make quick appointmentpublished at 14:52

    14:52

Raith Rovers v Partick Thistle (15:00)

Chief executive Andrew Barrowman tells BBC Scotland that Raith Rovers have a "preferred candidate" for their managerial vacancy and that person is currently in a job.

Other than that, he's not giving much away.

"I would like it to be very soon, but we're not in control of that," he says.

  16. Postpublished at 14:50

    14:50

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Rangers looked a bit flat at Tynecastle in last weekend's goalless draw but were much livelier on Tuesday when Cyriel Dessers equalised with the last kick of the ball away to Dynamo Kyiv.

  17. Postpublished at 14:47

    14:47

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

With such a long injury list, Motherwell fans may be feeling a bit nervous about today's game.

However, they did come out on top in the most recent meeting at Ibrox in March, winning 2-1.

And they were celebrating the last time the teams met at Hampden, with a Louis Moult double taking the Steelmen to the 2017 League Cup final.

  18. 'Strange feel to the day' - Kettlewellpublished at 14:44

    14:44

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "There's a different feel to it. It seems a bit strange, but we just see it as an away fixture."

On Lennon Miller recovering from a knock, he adds: "Great to have Lennon back, we were a bit concerned. He assured me he is 100% and I believe him."

And on a first start for Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, he says: "It's nice to get him a start, he's been getting better over the last week or two in terms of his fitness. He's got real quality and we hope he can give us that focal point."

  19. 'Most important thing is what Rangers do on pitch'published at 14:42

    14:42

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Scotland: "I don't want to think about [what difference playing at Hampden makes]. The most important thing is what we do on the pitch."

On Robin Propper and Vaclav Cerny starting, he adds: "Propper is someone with good football qualities and leadership. It's important he gets the experience now. Cerny has good technical qualities and works hard for the team also."

And on Motherwell, Clement expects to face "a firm structure and a lower block" that will wait "for their moments in transition."

  20. Made in Macedoniapublished at 14:37

    14:37

Ross County v Dundee United (15:00)

Kristijan Trapanovski opened the scoring in last week's Dundee derby, taking his tally to four in five games.

Compatriot David Babunski has netted twice and both look like the kind of players to get fans out of their seats with a trick or two.

United have made 11 summer signings - not one of them Scottish. However, there are some exciting young players emerging like Miller Thomson and Brandon Forbes.
