Our stay exceeded all expectations. The staff was exceptionally attentive and professional, consistently going above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The hotel's prime location in the heart of Hanoi's French Quarter made it perfect for exploring the city's main attractions and cultural sites.The service was impeccable - from the warm welcome at check-in to the thoughtful daily housekeeping and excellent concierge assistance. The historical charm of this legendary hotel combined with modern luxury amenities created an unforgettable atmosphere.The only minor inconvenience was the placement of the desk lamp, which slightly obscured the view of the TV. However, this was a very minor detail in what was otherwise a fantastic stay.Overall, I will highly recommend the hotel to my friends and family

My favorite hotel in Hanoi. As a loyal patron of the Sofitel Legend Metropole for the last 16+ years, I have stayed there numerous times and also organized events and seminars. But this time, it was way more special : the hotel very kindly celebrated my 25th stay with a room upgrade, flowers and sweet treats. They even arranged a bottle of champagne! Now this is what luxury is really about: personalized experience and attentive service that make one feel special! Thank you again for your excellent care. Will be back very soon !

We choose to stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi because it was an Hanoi Establishment, and was a 5 star hotel which was offered at a reasonable price.As it turns out, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately this hotel suffers from the limitations of is old architecture, and there is only that much they can do to refurbish the old lady to keep up in line with the modern 5 star hotel offerings.A few things were evident. There was a level up walking into the room from the hallway, it was not a flat ground, likely due to the many times the floor has been re-tiled up re-done. I was particularly unhappy with the shower over the bath situation. Clearly they have not managed to find a way to put in a walk in shower. The rooms were not huge by international standards, but were reasonable in the context of the small room sizes often found in the Old Quarters of Hanoi. The service was great, but not stellar. No one offered to pack us breakfast for an early departure.All in all, I felt that it was a worthy experience with a Hanoi establishment, and the price was fair for what you get. Certainly if I was paying more, I would be looking for a more modern hotel.

The way we were greeted was so special. Tan with guest relations took us up to our room privately. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and when we arrived, there were roses and chocolates waiting for us. He gave us special attention and asked if we needed anything. Super nice man. The bed was really comfortable, and the food was amazing. This place is so well kept and beautiful. It has a great history. We took the bunker tour, it was fascinating.

There was some confusion regarding the voucher. We were informed that the voucher was valid until 12 PM, but when we attempted to use it, we were told it was only valid until yesterday only despite confirming the details beforehand with Mrs mai To avoid such misunderstandings, it would be better if the voucher system were simplified. Rather than multiple staff members needing to update the situation, a physical voucher with the exact dates and duration of stay would be more effective. This way, it could be easily handed to the relevant person without any further confusion.”

The most beautiful hotel in the best area in Hanoi an oasis of beauty relaxation and ambience after the hustle and bustle of this incredible city. Great outdoors great area for dinning at fresco with a selection of many great restaurants. We were extremely happy here for 3 nights, the rooms are great with top bed linen towels toiletries and excellent service.

I was there just for the lunch, in fact my very first meal in the country. And it was just fabulous. The property is located at the most prime location. It’s charmingly beautiful. I recommend you read about the history of this hotel and then go, you’ll end up enjoying more. I had Pho and it was delicious. Must visit in Hanoi.

We just recently stayed for two nights in August and my goodness what a beautiful tranquil gem in a busy Cultural city that is Hanoi. It really brings calm to the end of an adventurous hot humid day. The rooms were so clean and clean ell presented with beautiful decor, bed is so comfortable, had best sleep ever. Then the breakfast was just so incredible with ingredients so fresh and prepared so well that you can taste it.No this is not a paid review either, just an honest one.The dinners were great, even outside on the hotel people watching with a lovely bowl of Pho!Great pool, so clean and so beautiful to swim in at night!Great spa, had a super mummy & daughter treatment. The therapists were so so good.The club benefits with the afternoon tea and evening canopies with champagne and wine is great. A super spread indeed.I can’t fault a thing with this beautiful grand hotel and this is from someone who regularly travels in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia staying in 5 star luxury. This place met and exceeded expectations! I will be back

This is one of the best hotels in the world. Many hotels are set in historically significant and iconic buildings and locations, or have the highest quality amenities and rooms. What sets this one apart is the quality of service and care afforded to its visitors.I have come to the Metropol several times in the past few years, and the more and more I visit the more I am convinced that there is a special way that all employed at this establishment treat their visitors. The hospitality here in my view is legendary. The staff is superb, in their competence and care. They are courteous, knowledgeable, helpful without being intrusive, and communicate very well.This is truly one of the world‘s greatest and most iconic hotels, both in its history and in the team that currently runs it. For Hanoi, there can’t be a better hotel compared to the Metropole. I have been here with my family 2 times already and haven’t had a complaint yet about this place. The staff is incredibly well trained and charming. The pool is a perfect place to have an early morning or nights swim. Wow, one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Staffs attention to detail, professionalism and warmth was wonderful. Our room was so luxurious with lovely amenities, beds and pillows were the best. We dined in the pool bar area and vietnamese restaurant. Everything was perfect. What really made this hotel wonderful were the staff, everyone well trained, welcoming and warm and quickly remembered what we were drinking.

What an elite hotel - this place is world class. Service, amenities, food/booze is all exceptional. Small things like providing a large amount of complimentary water bottles in-room, and replacing them during the turn-down service don’t go unnoticed. My first stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, but not my first trip to Hanoi. I will stay there always in the future. Far superior to my other stays in some very nice properties. The building is elegant, the room was pristine, the food and amenities were superb, and the service was par excellence, from every person I interacted with.

We recently stayed twice at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi - it was amazing!This hotel is the ideal luxury oasis amongst the craziness of beautiful Hanoi. Everything from the reception & rooms to the restaurants & pool were beautiful. Despite a couple of very minor issues with keys and room selections, the staff were amazing at always trying to accommodate our every need.We were visiting with our two children (9yr & 11yr) and so were spread across two rooms - which did not cause any issues at all. The kids absolutely loved the hotel for all their own happy-go-lucky reasons! They were particularly happy to be able to come home at lunch time from an adventure exploring the city to sit by the pool & enjoy some western food - we all know that's a bit naughty when traveling - but let's be honest, it's also just what a child needs to reboot their energy!Importantly the beds are super comfy & the rooms are very quiet, so there is certainly no issues with getting a great nights sleep.The attentive staff got to know us very quickly & hence greeted us by name, along with a good morning or good evening in French - which adds that little extra touch to remind you that you are somewhere special!We would seriously consider returning to Hanoi - just to stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi again!

Outstanding Service from Hang and Long.Hang and Long from the Bamboo Bar and Pool were absolutely amazing! They really took care of me during my 3-night stay.Right from the start, their friendly vibes and warm smiles made me feel totally at home. But what really blew me away was how attentive and proactive they were in anticipating what I needed as a guest.They went way above and beyond on multiple occasions - they really went the extra mile.In all my travels, I've rarely come across service that genuine and caring. Hang and Long are the true representatives of what the Sofitel brand is all about. They turned what could've been just another hotel stay into an experience I'll never forget.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This is officially my favorite hotel in world now. We just stayed for 5 nights and are already talking about coming back. The service was as good as it can possibly get ! The hotel is a lovely oasis in the middle of a crazy yet wonderful city that I truly fell in love with. Alice at the front desk was an absolute doll and we miss her already. All of the staff treated is like royalty! I will fly half way around the world ( literally ) to come back this amazing place . Thanks for everything!!

We stayed two nights in Sofitel Legend hotel in Hanoi and since we have lived thousands of five star hotels, this is definitely the best! You will meet all the smelling faces of staffs in the lobby, reception, and anywhere. The room was upgraded which was totally unexpected and super suprising. The room was much better than expected as we knew it was a 100 year old hotel. The French restaurant was very tasty and they celebrated birthday for me as well. I would say thank you to all of you!
